As soon as you reach the cable car station, you’ll know why the trip to Hochries was worth it: The view from here extends from Samerberg over the Wendelstein and far into the Inn Valley – simply gigantic! Once you reach the summit, you have a wonderful view from 1569 meters over the Chiemsee and the Simssee to the Gro\u00dfglockner. Magnificent views and great thermals will make your paragliding flight a very special experience – that’s a promise!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Arrival by car:<\/span><\/span><\/h6>

Arrival is only possible by car or with the Rosi Mobil.<\/a> With the Rosi Mobil<\/a>, you can get a cheap and comfortable ride from the Chiemgau region to the valley station. Please check the service area! Together we take the Hochriesbahn from the Grainbach valley station in two sections below the summit to the starting points. First take the chairlift across the cow pastures and herb meadows to the middle station, then continue with the gondola.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Launch sites<\/span><\/span><\/h4>

You can have two launch sites facing north or west, depending on the wind situation we decide on one of the two. The main starting area is flat and can be reached in a few minutes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

At the north launch site, we take off from 1520 meters below the mountain station. From the Hochriesbahn exit, we descend a few meters to the take-off point and reach it in just a few minutes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

From the exit of the Hochries mountain station it is a few minutes’ walk to the west launch site past the summit cross, below the DAV summit house we start at an altitude of 1560 meters.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Whether it’s apple strudel or sausage salad, you’ll finally reach our meeting point properly fortified. If you decide to hike up the Hochries, you can have easier and more challenging hiking trails that will take you to your summit happiness. Well-known starting points for hikes are the valley station in Grainbach and the Spatenau hiking parking lot. If you want to take it easy, you can also hike only half of the route and take the train the rest of the way. Super tasty snacks are available at the Hochries summit hut<\/a>, the neighboring Riesenh\u00fctte (currently closed) and the Doaglalm<\/a>. An excursion to the Doaglalm is the perfect hike for the whole family.<\/p>\n

The area also has a lot to offer mountain bikers. If you haven’t had enough adrenaline yet, you can take a detour to the Samerberg Bike Park. No downhill wishes are left unfulfilled. You can easily reach the park by chairlift with the Hochriesbahn or by “self-propulsion”.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
