The “viewing terrace” of the Chiemgau, in Bergen am Chiemsee
The name does not promise too much. Once at the top of the summit cross, the view is breathtaking.
And your personal panoramic tandem flight is guaranteed to be just as breathtaking. The 1674 meter high Hochfelln is located in the Chiemgau Alps, south of Bergen and west of Ruhpolding. Almost every day you can watch paragliders and hang gliders take off and fly here.
Between the sky and Lake Chiemsee – paragliding on the Hochfelln
Once we have taken off with the paraglider ourselves, you will have a wonderful distant view of the peaks of the Central Alps. Also the Berchtesgaden mountains with the Watzmann and even the Großvenediger are in sight! To the north you can see the Bavarian Alps and Lake Chiemsee – this alone makes your paragliding experience a real highlight – word of honor!

Meeting point and arrival
We meet at the base station of the Hochfelln cable car. Info Directions!
Meeting point:
Maria-Eck-Straße 8, 83346 Bergen (Parking is chargeable)
Arrival by train:
You can also travel with the Bavarian Regional Railway (BRB). We will then pick you up at the train station in Bergen by arrangement.
Together we start from the base station of the Hochfelln cable car in two sections to the starting points in the summit area. At an altitude of 1665 meters!
Launch sites
There are a total of four launch sites, each of which we reach in a walking time of about 5 minutes from the mountain station. The main launch site is located to the southeast. From there you have a great view of Ruhpolding below the Tabor Chapel.
Altitude difference
The difference is approximately 960 meters in altitude – a guaranteed unforgettable paragliding flight!
Landing site
The landing site is near the cable car, only about 200 meters from the Hochfelln base station. From the starting point you can reach it in a few minutes.

You can choose your way to the top yourself. There are easier and more challenging routes for your personal hike. Best of all, you can stop for a bite to eat in one of the rustic alpine huts that cross your path. Make a stop at the highest restaurant situated in the Chiemgau region
If you decide to hike all the way to the top, you will pass several beautiful huts (Bründling-Alm, Bachschmied-Kaser Alm, Gleichenbergalm). Let yourself be spoiled here with a tasty Brotzeitbrettl and many other goodies.
Once you reach the top, you will finally reach the Hochfelln haus. It is located at a 1671 meters, making it the highest restaurant in the region! In this cozy restaurant you can find everything from french fries to apple strudel for the whole family. Enjoy it!
Above the Hochfellng peak you will also find the Tabor Chapel, which is still used for weddings and mountain masses. It is worth a visit! There’s also a great loop trail at the top that’s also suited for strollers and wheelchairs. We wish you a lot of fun!
