The risk involved in tandem paragliding is a constant source of discussion. Flying itself is not dangerous, but it does not forgive any slackness. Our experienced tandem pilots, who are always up to date with the latest flying techniques, ensure a safe environment.
A certain minimal risk cannot be ruled out with all outdoor sports.

In spring, when the mountains are still covered in snow and the valley is dry, we have the opportunity to stay in the air longer than usual because of the good thermals.
(The best time for paragliding)
If you want a quiet and therefore usually somewhat shorter flight, you should choose a date in the fall or winter or in the early morning or late afternoon.

The minimum flight time is about 10 minutes, but if the wind, weather and thermal conditions allow, the flight can last 30 – 60 minutes. The total time required, ascent with the cable car, briefing, take-off preparation, flight, packing up amounts to
about 1.5 – 2.5 hours.

The tandem glider covers a wide weight range, the passenger should not be lighter than 35 kg and not heavier than 100 kg.
Passengers of all ages are welcome to fly, provided there are no health restrictions (see terms and conditions).

We recommend wearing ankle-high shoes that give you a stable footing. Trekking or mountain boots are best, boots, sneakers, sandals or other footwear are not suitable.

Clothing should be adapted to the weather of the seasons, a windbreaker and jeans in summer, ski pants or warm pants and jacket in winter. The helmet and gloves will then be provided by your pilot.

It is recommended that you wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from UV radiation and the wind. Visual aids can also be worn.

Our voucher is valid for 36 months from the date of purchase and cannot be extended.
In the case of sponsoring or discount campaigns, there may be a different period of validity.

In the event of non-appearance or non-compliance with the agreed meeting point or appointment, the voucher expires.

It goes without saying that we have taken out all insurance policies for our passengers in accordance with the German Air Traffic Act. Additional insurance by the passenger is therefore not necessary. Our pilots are all DHV-certified tandem pilots and have above-average skills and experience.

Of course you can document your flight with your own camera or camera. However, some passengers are so busy that they don’t notice much of the actual experience. Tandemfliegen-Chiemgau offers you a photo service with photo or video recordings in HD quality of your flight for 30€ (incl. 8GB memory card)

Of course children and teenagers can go tandem paragliding!
If you weigh at least 35 kg and your parents sign a declaration of consent, we will be happy to take you up in the air. If you are 18 or over, you alone decide whether you want to fly or not.

Please let us know at least one week before your desired date! Of course we will try to make your tandem flight possible at short notice, but especially in the period from June to August it can happen that we have to postpone your appointment!

In the event of non-compliance with the agreed dates, as well as cancelations less than 24 hours before the flight date, the voucher will expire or the pilot will charge the full flight price. Delays of more than 30 minutes after the agreed flight time are deemed to be non-compliance.

The “foehn” phenomenon has a special significance for paragliding. It’s nice when the foehn blows, but the paraglider stays on the ground.

“It’s nice when the foehn blows” is more of a country saying.
Those who don’t come from an aviation background find the foehn very pleasantly sunny, is perceived as a warm wind and blows from the mountains and is sometimes very strong.
In the aviation scene, you need large differences in air pressure between the north and south sides of the Alps for a foehn situation.

Föhn means “stay on the ground”. The wind flowing down from the mountains is normally too strong and very turbulent air is to be expected.
